On April 23, 1983, Barbara & Company opened its doors in a small space in Tamarac Square, and expanded only 6 years later into 3,000 sq ft. The Boulder store greeted customers on Pearl Street in 2008, and will mark 15 years in the iconic shopping district this August. A year later, the Denver store moved to Historic South Gaylord Street, joining a lively, walkable neighborhood. Owner Kathy King loves the energy of the local community, bringing many Colorado designers into the Barbara & Company fold. “There’s so much talent in our state. We enjoy sharing these designers’ works with our customers.”

Today, we take stock and count our lucky stars for how loyal our clientele have been over the decades. You have supported us and our favorite causes every year, even in very challenging times.
